Police in Florida’s Panhandle didn’t have to call out the crime scene techs to solve this shoplifting mystery, although there was plenty of DNA left behind.

Employees at the Ann Taylor store at the Silver Sands Premium Outlets in Miramar Beach found some security tags on the floor of the dressing room earlier this week. They also found a cell phone that the thief apparently dropped.

The phone was lying near a puddle of urine.

Deputies found the number for the cell phone owner’s husband and called him. He helpfully gave the cops a description of the car being driven by his 27-year-old wife, according to the Northwest Florida Daily News.

Deputies found the car and driver near the store. Inside, according to arrest reports, were clothes missing from the Ann Taylor store and a Saks Off Fifth outlet. The woman was arrested on two counts of felony retail theft, according to the newspaper.

Police reports cited by the newspaper also noted that in addition to admitting stealing the clothes, she confessed to peeing on the floor.

STRANGE FACT: The next time you see a well dressed man in Harris Tweed, consider this: The yarn is dyed with lichen that has been soaked in human urine.
